Dr Ali Morshed is an avid trainer renowned for delivering interactive courses that empower engineers and executives to excel in their careers. He has designed and offered over seventy courses, training more than 1,300 professionals from a diverse range of international corporations. His expertise covers asset corrosion management, microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC), risk-based inspection (RBI), corrosion control in the upstream oil and gas sector, and corrosion control in seawater injection systems.

With over twenty-two years of field experience as a corrosion engineer, Ali has worked in the UK North Sea sector, North Africa, the Persian Gulf region, and the Indian subcontinent for companies such as Lloyd’s Register (LR), Production Services Network (PSN), Wood Group Integrity Management (WGIM), WS Atkins, and Saudi Aramco. He has managed assets for production companies including Aramco, BP, BG, Cairn Energy, Chevron, Dana Petroleum, IOOC, NIGC, and Total.

Ali earned his master’s degree at Imperial College London and his PhD from UCL (via a BP scholarship), both in corrosion engineering. He founded the first European postgraduate corrosion management course at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen and introduced the Morshed Corrosion Management Model (MCMM) in 2012, now adopted by governments and organisations worldwide. He is author of five corrosion management books and one microbiology book, all published by NACE/AMPP in the US.

He currently works as a freelance corrosion engineer, offering training, industrial consultancy, and auditing services to both hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon industries.
